Samsung has announced that they will soon be releasing a pink version of their hit smartphone/tablet hybrid device, the Galaxy Note. Specswise, the device will be featuring the same components including the large 5.3-inch screen with a pixel resolution of 1280 x 800, the 8 megapixel camera and more.

Sadly, however it may sound as a perfect Valentine’s Day gift, the device didn’t quite make it in time, as a matter of fact, Samsung hasn’t announced a release date for the device as of yet. All we know is that it’s going to be released some time in March.

Apple has today rolled out a new update for their Mac OS X with the version number 10.7.3 and a few hours later a number of users are claiming problems with the said download. A good number of users have posted on the Apple support forums saying that the update caused apps to crash while others say that nothing is working.

I myself have not updated to the latest OS version yet, and hearing this, I think I could hold out a few more days before I actually update my OS.

Mobile shopping apps have been widely accepted nationwide mainly because of the convenience and rewards it brings to those who use them. Shopkick is one of the well known shopping apps around and has reportedly raked in over $110 million in revenues for other stores and brands in 2011 alone.

Shopkick works by offering rewards, points to people who physically visit participating stores. These points can then be exchanged for both virtual and physical goods.

Verizon Wireless has recently announced it’s 2011 earnings today and from the looks of it, Android and iPhone still has the upper hand when it comes to the market. According to the report, Verizon has sold well over 15 million Android phones and nearly 11 million iPhones.

Unfortunately, although it may sound impressive in numbers, earnings were greatly affected for the network due to the subsidy they paid for each iPhone which amounted to $400 per phone. Although, this would be earned back as customers had to sign up for a two-year contract with the network.

After being around for a while for Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Symbian, the guys behind the augmented reality app Wikitude have decided to bring the service to Windows Phone users.

The application has been redesigned to mesh with the Windows Phone’s panorama user interface which by all definition, separates the whole experience from other platforms. Through the app, users can check out different categories that this version provides like Attractions, Restaurants, Accommodations and more.

After Siri, the voice assistant technology has really hit it off, and now, more and more consumers specially those that are not on the iPhone, are craving to get a piece of the action. This may be the reason why Nuance made the move of bringing Dragon Go! voice assistant software to Android.

For those who don’t know, Dragon Go! voice assistant lets you talk to your phone like Siri to get the information you want without having to key-in what you’re looking for.

What’s better is that Dragon Go! is available in the Android MarketPlace for free.

While Huawei is less known here in the United States, the company has secured numerous infrastructure deals with governments, network service providers and other telecommunication companies scoring them billions in dollars in revenues.

In addition, the company have also produced a number of entry level phones and smartphones to less-popular networks both in the US and abroad although most names are being replaced to that of the carrier’s choosing.

Now, it appears as though the company wants take it up a notch as they’ve expressed their plans of bringing high-end LTE phones to major networks like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile this year.

USA TODAY, the popular media publisher has announced the launch of their USA TODAY app for the Amazon Kindle Fire. Available for free, the Kindle Fire version of their app will provide all of the company’s award-winning magazine content. This was made possible through the sponsorship of Volkswagen.

Anyway, the app has been optimized for the Kindle Fire’s 7-inch screen though the content will be the same as other platforms.

Samsung has yet again announced a new smartphone for the market and this time, it will come bearing the name Galaxy M. The smartphone will be exclusive to Korean market with no sign of being brought internationally by Samsung.

The phone features a 1 GHz processor (single-core), and a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display. It’s camera comes in the form of 3-megapixel one while a 4GB of internal storage is fitted as well.

No details on pricing and an actual release date has been announced by Samsung as of yet.

After rolling out the Honeycomb update for the HTC Flyer in Europe last month, Google and HTC has announced that users of the Flyer in the United States can now update their tablets to Honeycomb as well.

The update will be installing Android Honeycomb 3.2 in particular and will contain a number of new features for its users.

The update is over-the-air which means you need to make sure that you’ve got a fully charged battery and all files backed up before hitting “update” on your device’s settings menu.
